Curtains with a linen look – the natural feel of linen

Linen has a natural texture and a lively look that works particularly beautifully in curtains. With a linen blend, the curtain gets much of the character of linen, while other materials contribute to the softness and drape of the fabric.
Here we take a closer look at curtains with a linen look – and how linen in curtains can create a soft and natural feel in the room.

The character of linen means that it suits many different types of homes and interior styles. The lively texture becomes particularly prominent when daylight filters through the fabric, giving the curtain a natural depth. Our range of linen curtains includes the sheer fabric Saga in several different styles, as well as the slightly thicker fabric Lina. Choose from curtain panels, curtain valances, café curtains and Roman blinds to find a solution that suits your home and your style.

What is meant by a linen look?

Linen look describes a fabric with the natural, lively character associated with linen. The texture has become increasingly popular thanks to its natural feel and its ability to fit in with many different interior styles – from Scandinavian to country style. The distinct texture of the fabric gives the curtain depth and becomes particularly prominent when the light falls through it.

In our curtains, the linen look comes from a material blend in which linen is combined with other fibres, which gives the character of linen while the curtain gets a softer drape.

The character of linen with a softer drape

When linen is combined with other materials, much of the natural texture and character associated with linen is retained, while the fabric gets a softer drape. Curtains in 100% linen often have a slightly stiffer fabric, which can make them more prone to creasing and harder to shape into soft pleats or waves. In our curtains, the linen blend contributes to a softer, more supple fabric that drapes beautifully, while the beautiful texture of linen remains.

Decorate with a linen look

Curtains with a linen look suit many different interior styles thanks to their natural texture and soft feel. Combine with wood, rattan and other natural materials for a warm and cosy look, or let the linen texture soften a more pared-back interior.

Choose our sheer curtain Saga if you want to let the daylight filter through the fabric, or the curtain Lina with its denser fabric for a cosier feel and more light filtering. Café curtains, Roman blinds and curtain valances are lovely options for smaller windows, while curtain panels frame the window and take up more space in the room. Feel free to combine several types of curtain in the same window for a cohesive look where the curtains are both functional and decorative. Choose from different colours to find a combination that suits your style and interior.
