Measure the distance from the floor to the point where the blind will be installed. This measurement is used to adjust the length of the bead chain or cord so that it complies with child safety requirements. The chain or cord must end at least 150 cm above the floor. Please note: this is the installation height, not the height of the blind. If you select “Unknown”, the product will be supplied with a standard chain or cord drop of 100 cm.

Good to know

Product description

Custom-made roman blind in warm brown. The fabric is soft and smooth with a room-darkening effect. The roman blind dims the light and creates a calm atmosphere in the room – a good choice for living rooms, TV rooms, and bedrooms. Delivered complete for mounting on the wall, ceiling, or in a window recess. Adjustable with a cord. Height 160 cm.

See video guide for mounting instructions.

How to measure

Recess mounting

For recess mounting, measure the recess in at least 3 places (top, middle, and bottom). Then, deduct 5 millimeters from the smallest measurement. The reason for this is partly to ensure the Roman blind fits into the recess, and partly to prevent the fabric from touching the walls and wearing out.

Wall mounting

If you are mounting on the wall outside the window, you can either choose to measure so that the Roman blind lines up with the window frames or let the Roman blind extend a little way onto the wall.

Installation height & child safety

Installation height
Installation height is the distance from the floor up to the point where the blind is mounted. On made-to-measure blinds with a cord or beaded chain, the installation height is used to adjust the length of the operation so that it ends up at a child-safe distance (150 cm above the floor).

Read more in our guide to child safety.

Child safety
Roller blinds, Roman blinds and other blinds that are adjusted with a chain or cord can pose a risk if they are within reach of small children. For your peace of mind, the roller blind is supplied with a safety device for the beaded chain. It helps to keep the chain out of reach of small children. We recommend that you always install the safety device according to the enclosed instructions for a safe home environment.
